Job Summary
We are seeking a Patient Financial Advisor to join our team in our busy private practice. In this role, you will be responsible for accurate and timely verification of insurance benefits, financial counseling, and identifying patients' financial responsibility. You will assist with the New Patient Intake process and work closely with our Billing Specialist. We are a two-physician private practice with 15 staff members that work collaboratively and treat each other like family. You must be one that enjoys the spirit of teamwork and cooperation, and be able to respond in kind.


Responsibilities 
  • Become the subject matter expert of our IVF treatment packages, insurance benefits, covered services, and financing options
  • Validate insurance information of patients and resolve discrepancies as needed
  • Assist patients with understanding of financial assistance programs available
  • Collects co-pay, deductible and out of pocket expenses from patient at time of admission to meet upfront collections success rate
  • Analyze patient data to ensure that all key elements that affect billing and collections are accurate
  • Perform data entry in EMR to document financial information
  • Ability to discuss personal and financial matters with patients regarding credit and collection policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate high-level of professionalism in demeanor and both verbal and written communications
  • May perform other duties as needed
 
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred
  • Previous work in a healthcare field, preferably in a financial advising role
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, and coding.
  • Ability to provide reliable, data-based financial information to patients
  • Ability to explain complex financial information in relation to treatment plans in simple terms
  • Experience with a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office, and Excel
  • Strong customer service skills in-person and via telephone and email
  • Ability to manage stressful situations with professionalism
  • Excellent communication skills

Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
 
Compensation: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
